DRAFT FOR REVIEW. This page still needs a lawyer's review before launch. Parts in [AMBER BRACKETS] are still to be filled in.
WHAT YOU GIVE US, AND WHEN.
- JOINING THE OPEN BETA
Your name, email address and sim rig, and your Discord handle if you choose to give it.
- APPLYING FOR THE CLOSED BETA
Your name, email, country and Discord handle; your iRacing licence, hours a week and display; what you race; your rig; why you want in. Optionally your iRating, whether you race in a team, run a league or stream, and a channel or league link.
If you're picked, we also keep your signed Beta Tester Agreement and the date and time you signed it.
- WHEN YOU CONTACT US
Whatever you put in your email or Discord message, and any files you attach, such as the app's log file.
- WHEN YOU VISIT THIS WEBSITE
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without following you around other sites. Cloudflare also handles your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks, and our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check you're not a bot.
- FROM LAUNCH DAY
Your account (name and email), your plan and your licence key. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our payment partner. We see what you bought, your email and your country. We never see your full card number.
YOUR TELEMETRY STAYS ON YOUR PC.
- WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PC
Your telemetry, laps, setups, paints, overlays and settings are stored on your own PC. We don't upload them.
- WHEN THE APP USES THE INTERNET
The app goes online to:
- check your beta code (and from launch, your licence) when it starts
- check for updates
- download iRacing's track maps and the speech and voice models, the first time you need them
- FEATURES YOU TURN ON
Some features send data to other services, only if you switch them on: Discord posts, status and the league bot; the team hub (which uses your own Firebase project); signing in with your iRacing account; and the online lap library. Those services handle that data under their own privacy policies.
WHY WE NEED IT.
- WHAT WE USE YOUR DATA FOR
- Running the beta, choosing closed beta testers and giving you your Discord tester role
- Emailing you beta news and updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link
- Answering support questions and fixing bugs
- From launch: your account, purchases and licence
- Keeping the website and app secure, and meeting our legal obligations
- WHAT WE NEVER DO
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
YOU STAY IN CONTROL.
- HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
- Beta sign-ups: until the beta ends, then [12 MONTHS], unless you ask us to delete it sooner
- Closed beta applications that aren't picked: deleted [6 MONTHS] after testers are chosen
- Purchase records: as long as tax law requires
- WHAT YOU CAN ASK
You can ask to see the data we hold on you, correct it, delete it, or stop us using it for emails. Email support.gridcentral@gmail.com with the subject Privacy request and we'll reply within 30 days.
- IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY
Tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You can also complain to your local privacy regulator, such as the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the UK ICO or your EU data protection authority.
- AGE
Grid Central is for people aged 16 and over, and the closed beta is 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
CONTACT AND CHANGES.
- WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DATA
Grid Central [LEGAL COMPANY NAME, NUMBER AND ADDRESS, ONCE REGISTERED]. Contact us at support.gridcentral@gmail.com.
- IF THIS POLICY CHANGES
We'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is important, we'll email you before it applies.
